Moldex3D SYNC is an easy-to-use interface embedded in SOLIDWORKS to bring a seamless workflow from design to simulation. With the complete support of Moldex3D, designers are able to synchronize design changes and verify product designs with professional injection molding simulations in order to solve design and manufacturing difficulties more efficiently in the CAD environment that they are familiar with.
•Embedded in SOLIDWORKS to help users synchronize design changes with Moldex3D simulations at minimum efforts.
•The easy-to-use interface and the intelligent workflow streamline the analysis process.
•Automated 3D meshing technology avoids the analysis bottleneck and can launch the computation in just minutes.
•Equipped with comprehensive Moldex3D material databank.
•Complete Moldex3D analysis modules supported.
•Versatile analysis capabilities from quick design verification to complete molding process optimization.
•Take advantage of Symmetry function on the model to increase accuracy and reduce analysis time.
•Support parallel computing to speed up the analysis process.
Pre-Processing Comparison between Designer and SYNC
The following table compares the pre-processing capabilities between Designer (pre-processor of eDesign) and SYNC. Although some features of Designer are not supported by SYNC, armed with the powerful CAD capabilities, users are also able to do the pre-processing with greater flexibility. It should be noted that SYNC for SOLIDWORKS only support the *.asm file for now.

Analysis Capabilities of SYNC
Moldex3D SYNC has integrated with the same analysis capabilities as Moldex3D Project.
Here are some main functions listed below:
•Flow: Simulate filling patterns for thermoplastic materials and predict manufacturing problems, such as short shot, weld lines, air traps, etc.
•Pack: Bring in prediction of gate seal, packing pressure, volumetric shrinkage and warpage due to density variations.
•Cool: Improve the productivity and efficiency of the cooling system and support the simulation of the variotherm (Heat-and-Cool) process.
•Warp: Analyze the causes of shrinkage and warpage and provide reliable trouble-shooting capabilities.
•Fiber: Visualize fiber orientation with process-induced anisotropic thermo-mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced plastic parts to achieve strength improvement and warpage prediction.
•Symmetry Setting: Setting symmetry to a multi-cavity model can significantly reduce analysis calculation time and also increase accuracy of analysis results. To set up the symmetric function to a model, select the symmetric surface on a solid runner and setup its symmetric ratio.
•Parallel Processing: Moldex3D takes the lead in parallel processing to enhance computation performance to run an analysis in less time on a more complex model with larger elements than ever. The high-performance parallelized kernel is equipped with instantaneous and accurate simulations of Flow, Pack, Cool, Warp and Fiber. Moreover, Moldex3D parallel processing technology supports both Multi-CPU platform and PC-Cluster.
•Remote Computing: Via remote computing, you can submit the analysis job to the server managing the higher performance computers. Remote computing (RC) is a set of modules including Computing Manager, Remote Computing Account Manager, Job Service and Job Scheduler. These programs help users and administrators manage and run job.
Acquire Analysis Results
Moldex3D provides complete analysis results, including all kinds of variable distributions, X-Y graphs with advanced 3D displays, and an automatic report generator, which can export the report as PPT format. With these analysis tools, users can realize the analysis results in no time and use them to validate and optimize product designs.
