Computing manager is a useful tool for scheduling project analyses. It supports cross-project analyses. The projects are added to Computing Manager and submitted to a server. When the analyses of submitted projects are completed, the results can be downloaded manually or automatically. The detailed descriptions of Computing Manager, Batch Job Monitoring, and Remote Computing Server IP list management will be illustrated in the following sections.
There are three main functions on Computing Manager interface for users:
Submit Job: Add new jobs to batch job creating list
Monitoring: Monitor the status of submitted jobs
Option: Computing Manager settings in detail
The functions behind each tab are described briefly as the following:
Server information: It is for users to add/edit a Remote Computing Server to connect
Batch Job Creating List: The batch job creating list as the figure below shows all the information of jobs already added. In this tab users can submit, move up/down, remove the selected jobs or clean all jobs
Log: It records some crucial messages of operation
Option: The setting of Computing Manager in detail
Close: It is used to close Computing Manager
Users can check information and current status of submitted jobs. It also provides Cancel, submit, remove, and move up/down to let users operating jobs. The results can be downloaded manually or automatically by checking the box Auto Download in option setting. The Batch Job Monitoring list is shown below.
General: Users can activate the function of automatic startup for current user. Computing manager will be launched automatically when Windows starts. Besides, users can enter their email addresses for job notification and set jobs download option. The Options Setting is shown below
Monitor: Users can set monitoring list detail option such as update time, show detail view, show or hide list column. The Options Setting is shown below
History: User can show or hide list column in history list
Compress: User can set path of creating zip file
1.Submit jobs to different remote computing servers: The following figure shows the list menu for users to choose a remote computing server for analysis.
2.Server information list: Users can connect to another Remote Computing Server from the IP list. After selecting an IP and Clicking Connect, Computing Manager will disconnect from the current Remote Computing Server and then connect to the selected one. The following figure shows how to connect to another Remote computing Server. Besides, users can click Add, Edit, Remove button as shown below for users to add, edit or remove a Remote Computing Server. The details are demonstrated in the section “How to Manage Remote Computing Server IP List”.
3.Add a Batch Job Setting File: Users can add a Batch Job Setting File (bjs file) which can be generated by SYNC automatically as shown, or by users manually add jobs.
3.1. Add Job by SYNC Project automatically: First, users have to load a project to SYNC. Users need to choose Computing Setting and determine the number of task in SYNC-Task manager. And go to Analysis window then click Analyze now, the current local machine will start to run job analysis.
3.2. Add Job by users manually: When click Add Job, a dialog for selecting Batch Job Setting File will pop up. When select the *.bjs file, the selected Batch Jobs will show in the Batch Job Creating List. If users want to add another job, do Add Job procedures again. Users can also add jobs by drop-drag Moldex3D Project to Batch Job Creating List.
4.Send Batch Job for analysis: Users can click Upload Job button. It can submit jobs to remote computing server for analysis. Users can also stop uploading job by clicking Stop Submit button.
Monitor Batch Job in Computing Manager
